"Who is Lizzard?," you ask? Well, you've come to the right place to find out!

I am GONZO!

You are Gonzo!
You're a bit loopy, and many people have trouble figuring out exactly what you're supposed to be. You take pride in your eccentricity and originality.

Lizzard is a fairly normal human being. If you ask her, she'll say she's rather boring and plain - but for some reason, people raise eyebrows or chuckle when she says this. So, we'll let you judge for yourself.

A happy Lizzard on the mountain

Lizzard was raised in Alaska, which she wouldn't change for the world. Sure it was dark in the winter, but the light summers playing Ultimate Frisbee until all hours of the night more than made up for it. Besides, she gained a love of snow which eventually led her to pick up snowboarding as a hobby. She loves cooler temperatures far more than scorching heat. After all, you can stay warm in the cold but there's only so much you can do to combat the heat, especially without air conditioning!

Lizzard with her grandma at the store

She worked at a local grocery store for several years, saving away most of the income towards college expenses. She continued to work there in the summers during her college years as well, much to the store manager's delight. She did everything there, including bagging groceries, cashiering, working in the natural foods/meat/seafood departments and just being a general help with whatever needed to be done.

Lizzard and her best friend, TSO After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, she headed off to BYU where she studied electrical engineering. It was a long five years but there were moments of fun in there too. It was here that she met her best friend, TSO. She also learned American Sign Language (ASL) to compensate for her decreasing ability to hear. She was a natural, taking to it like a fish to water.

Lizzard showing her technical inclinations at a young age Lizzard is a self-proclaimed geek and loves electronics. She's always on the look out for the next cool techno toy. Fortunately, today's electronics are far superior to what she was first exposed to in her childhood (see picture). She could easily spend hours (and lots and lots of dollars) at Best Buy if given the opportunity.

closeup of the chip Lizzard made for her senior project

notice how small it is!

The highlight of her college career was her senior project. She and her friends designed a chip to do a specified task, drew it all out, had the design manufactured into a real, tangible chip and then created a demo to prove the chip worked as expected. It required a LOT of work but it was absolutely phenomenal watching that chip actually function correctly! The top picture is a close up of the chip (sorry it's a little fuzzy). The shiny things going outward are the wires connecting the chip to the package. You can even see the design, or at least where it is against the black.

For comparison purposes, the bottom picture is included.

Lizzard graduated! After graduation (yes, it did happen!), she moved to Oregon to take a job with Intel. She adopted a cute ball of fur named Mikey and met a charming young man named Stamps. In 2003, they wed and went on a honeymoon to Hawaii. In 2004, they bought their first house. Mikey in particular was pleased with his new backyard.

Photoshop collage that Lizzard made

Lizzard has developed an interest in Photoshop, something which surprises even her. She's never considered herself to be 'artistic' and still doesn't - but she's had a lot of fun messing around with pictures. Her favorite type of thing so far seems to be making collages. One of the most fun projects to date was a project to welcome her boss back from surgery. Her team sent pictures of their "ideal vacations" which Lizzard then photoshopped the appropriate team member's face onto. The boss loved it.

Sign in Lizzard's garage Lizzard is a huge BYU football fan. Stamps learned very early in their married life that it's best to let Lizzard watch the games without too many interruptions. While it is otherwise impossible to get her up early on a Saturday morning, if a BYU football game starts at 9am, she eagerly jumps out of bed in time to see the opening kickoff. She gets quite involved in the games as well, screaming and yelling with either delight or agony. Bring ear plugs if you come to visit on game day.

While she isn't the best nor fastest player, she's also joined a softball team through her work and plays each summer. It's a great way for her to get out in the sunshine for a little bit. This last year, she mostly played catcher - and even made one pretty spectacular catch! There were probably more but there was one that stands out above all the rest.

Lizzard and Manto after a tournament Lizzard participated in karate with her brother for a few years. He would do it year-round, she would do it in the summer when she was home in Alaska from BYU. She currently holds a brown belt because she accepted an internship in Oregon one summer instead of returning to Anchorage for her black belt. Her brother, fortunately, continued on and got his black belt. Maybe someday Lizzard will get the opportunity of finishing what she started.

Lizzard is the BBQ Chef When asked what she wanted as a college graduation present, Lizzard responded with two words. "BBQ grill" She has put said grill to good use many times in the years since and is frequently found munching on BBQ chicken or steak... especially in the summer when it is just too hot in the kitchen to cook dinner.

BULLS-EYE!!! When her team at work went to an archery place for a teambuilding activity, Lizzard actually got a bulls-eye! She's awfully proud of it even though she probably couldn't do it again to save her life. :-) Hey, sometimes you just get lucky.
